The Connecticut Fire Safety Code states that "Detailed plans and specifications for new structures and additions, renovations or alterations to existing structures shall be submitted by the applicant to the local Fire Marshal"

With the exception of one and two family homes, any building permit applied for in the Town of Manchester will require a separate plan review application to the Fire Marshal's Office.  If your property is within the 8th Utilities District of Manchester you will have to apply in person during business hours at 18 Main Street, Manchester, CT.  A completedPlan Review Application, detailed plans, and plan review fee are due at time of application


Fire Marshal plan review fees are separate from fees paid to the Building Department. Fees are as follows:

In excess of $4,000$20 plus $7 per $1,000 of work in excess of $4,000

By State Statute, the Fire Marshal's Office has up to 30 days to review and approve or deny any plan review applications
